Which hydraulic oil does my convertible need: Beige (ZH-M) or Green (CHF)?

For the proper functioning of the hydraulic system, sufficient oil is needed. Now it can sometimes happen that this falls below the minimum value, for example due to a leak. In addition to repair, it is also important to keep your hydraulic oil at the correct level.

The choice of hydraulic fluid for your convertible depends on the specific system and the manufacturer of the vehicle. Here are some guidelines:


1. Check the booklets of your convertible

The owner's manual will give you the exact specifications of the oil your convertible requires. This is the most reliable source.


2. Different types of hydraulic oil

  • Beige (ZH-M): This is a mineral hydraulic oil that is often used in older vehicles. You can order it here.
  • Green (CHF, Central Hydraulic Fluid): This is a synthetic hydraulic oil, common in more modern vehicles and often more resistant to extreme temperatures. This order here.


3. Compatibility

  • It is essential not to mix different oils (e.g. ZH-M and CHF) as this can cause damage to the hydraulic system.
  • If you are unsure what oil is already in the system, a complete change is better than topping up.
