Repair coupling for hydraulic hoses

If you’re looking to repair a section of damaged hydraulic hose for your convertible top and want to avoid replacing the entire line, this may be the solution for you. In many cases, leaking convertible top hydraulic hoses can be easily and permanently repaired on the car with basic hand tools. Hoses are crimped internally and externally the same way as they are with the factory connectors.

The coupler only fits factory hoses with an inner diameter of 1.8 mm and 2.0 mm and an outer diameter of 4.5 mm. Check the imprint on your damaged OEM hose to determine the actual diameter of the hose.

The coupling fits hoses with the following imprint: AF1.8, DN1.8 for 1.8mm and AF2.0, DN2.0 for 2mm bores.

The hoses must have an outer diameter of 4.5 mm. Actual outer diameter may vary between 4.45mm and 4.55mm. Measure the outside diameter of the hose with a precision caliper.

The coupling can be used to reattach a hose with a minimum length of 19 mm from the metal connector. The hose should not be cut too close to the fitting unless necessary for the repair.

The coupling is designed for single use. Once the coupling has been crimped, it cannot be reused.
